Tomorrow starts the annual meeting point where Greek farmers, artisans, artists and collectives celebrate sustainable agriculture and handicrafts. At the same time it provides a unique platform for interaction with the public. After all, it is one of the main goals of the festival to bring producers and consumer together and promote direct marketing and solidarity networks.
‘Ecofest’ is not only an exposition of ecological products and handicrafts – there are lectures, seminars and workshops under the theme of sustainable agriculture as well as documentary screenings, activities for kids and musical performances from local artists.
For the 19th year, the 4-day festival is held in a different city – this year in the town of Xanthi in northeastern Greece. On Friday the 14th there is a rebetiko band playing live while on Saturday (15 September) legendary reggae band ‘One Drop Forward’ (Thessaloniki) will take over the stage.
The festival is free of charge, so if you happen to be around we recommend you to participate in something interesting and informative at the same time. Here is the link to the page of the festival (only in Greek).
